Rolland "Lubby" Rodgers

Rolland "Lubby" Ruben Rodgers, 86 of Roseville, IL passed away Sunday April 24, 2016, at the Roseville Rehab and Healthcare Center Roseville, IL. He was born Sunday April 13, 1930 in Roseville, IL the son of John and Ethyle (Olson) Rodgers. He married Marjorie Hopson on June 28, 1952 at the Roseville Christian Church Roseville, IL.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of Roseville, IL; son Trent Rodgers of Roseville, IL and daughter Sheila (Mike) Kirby of Roseville, IL; grandchildren Alan & Kelly Rodgers, Lynsey (Curt) Kirby Means, Marissa (Justin) Kirby-Stofferahn, Katy (Casey) Kirby Krieg; 6 great grandchildren Sam, Riley, Hillarry, Mallori, Nora, and Freddy; also his faithful companion, Sammy; one brother Leland Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Gene Rodgers), sister (Lois Fackler).

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the bronze star. He loved working with his dad in the family business, Rodgers Trucking. He also worked for the Roseville Unit School Dist. #200, where he was a custodian and drove a school bus and continued to drive after retirement. He was a member of the Roseville Christian Church and the Roseville American Legion.

Funeral service will be Friday April 29, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at the Roseville Christian Church Roseville, IL with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the grave by Roseville American Legion Post. Memorials may be made to the Roseville American Legion and or the Roseville Christian Church.
