Rosalee G (Ashby) Buley

Rosalee G. Buley 98, of Smithfield, passed away on January 10, 2022, at 12:11pm at Graham Hospital in Canton Il. She was born on June 18, 1923, the daughter of Robert and Ella (Postin) Ashby at home in Fiatt IL. She married Jesse L. Buley on June 29, 1946, he preceded her in death on November 18, 1976.

She is survived by her children; Robert (Pat) Buley of Bushnell, Judy (Randy) Byers of Roseville, Shirley Harty of Prairie City, Linda (David) Hilton of Bushnell, Sharon (Carl) Riley of Smithfield, grandchildren; Cathy Buley, Rodney (Ginger) Byers, Roberta (Lance) Tarochione, Roger Byers, Elizabeth Harty, Sheryl Harty, Jackie (Sonny) Gass, Andy (Rachael) Harty, D.J. (Melinda) Hilton, Jessica (David) Miller, Cory (Sara) Hilton, 12 great-grandchildren; Cole, Audrey, Ashley, Ryan, Amber, Ethan, Kaitlynn, Jon, Norah, Ruby, Norah, Melody, along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, son-in-law Jack Harty, and sister Edna in infancy.

Rosalee enjoyed being outside with Gods many creations, she enjoyed her cats, dogs, cows, and especially chickens. She was known as a very good cook. Her friends and neighbors were always welcome. She loved to spend time with her family and was very proud of them. In her eyes her Family and her faith made her one of the richest people ever. She always felt she was blessed.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 14, 2022, at 1:00pm at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 13, 2022, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon. Burial will be held at Point Pleasant Cemetery in New Philadelphia.  Memorials may be made to the Cuba Senior Center, or the Disabled American Veterans.
