Ruby M. Miller

Ruby M. Miller, 90, of Alexis, died 7:46 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.

She was born February 19, 1922 at Ripley County, Missouri, the daughter of Dewey and Gertrude (Colburn) Kick. She was raised and educated in Ripley County, Missouri.

Ruby married Cecil E. Miller on September 27, 1941, in Ripley County, Missouri and he survives.

She worked as a seamstress at Formfit in Monmouth. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers and making candy.

She was a member of the Alexis Presbyterian Church, and the War Mothers from 1966 to 2008.

Her family includes her husband, Cecil, two daughters, Juanita (Dick) Holloway and Evelyn (Gary) Simkins both of Alexis, two sons, Dick (Linda) Miller of Alexis and Rob (Meribeth) Miller of Atkinson, 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, two daughters-in-laws, Linda Miller of Alexis and Linda Beal of Milton, FL and two sisters, Maxine Stout of Monmouth and Martha Krotz of Coal Valley, IL along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Howard Miller and Earl Miller, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Rhodes. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
