Sandra Lee Ester Melow, 56, of Galesburg, IL, died 8:30 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her home.

She was born February 20, 1957, at Moline, IL, the daughter of Herbert and LaVerne (Pearson) Ester. She was raised and educated in Alexis.

Sandra married Bob Melow on July 21, 1978.

She was a homemaker and had done babysitting. She enjoyed her grandchildren and gardening.

Her family includes her daughter, Amy Bainbridge of Alexis, her son Bob (Bernadette) Melow of Woodhull, four grandchildren, Alex Bainbridge, Hannah Bainbridge, Jasmine Jefko and Benny Melow, six brothers, Tim (Fran) Sobie of Chicago, Ralph (Diane) Sobie of Chicago, Dan Sobie of Florida, Larry (Marcie) Sobie of Texas, John (Stacy) Ester of Galesburg and Sam (Lori) Ester of Alexis and one sister Sue (Brian) Elshof of Ft. Collins, Co. along with nieces and nephews and special friend, Fred Melow of Woodhull.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David Ester and Charles Ester.

Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will be held 5:00 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Alexis Field House, Alexis. Online condolences may be left at www.hooverhall.com
