Shirley Jo-Ann (Stambach) Boyd

Shirley “Jo-ann” Boyd, 86, of Avon, IL passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018, 8:50 p.m. at Seminary Manor Galesburg, IL.  She was born Friday, February 12, 1932 in Chili, IL the daughter of Linus and Daisy (Hartman) Stambach.  She married Vincil “Toot” Boyd on May 26, 1951 in Bushnell, IL, he preceded her in death on April 19, 2005.

She is survived by two daughters Darla (Jim) Sackfield of Avon, IL, and Amanda “Mandy” (Mike) Fowler of Avon, IL; two sons Tom (Penny) Boyd of Avon, IL and John Boyd of Avon, IL; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 great grandson (Nick), 2 brothers and 1 sister.

She worked Luper and Sundberg Antenna Factory, Avon Nursing Home, and the green house in Avon.  She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  She loved her flowers and her animals.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018 11:00 a.m. at the Olive/Holeman Cemetery Avon, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Avon, IL.  Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon is in charge of the arrangements.
