Shirley Henry

Shirley Jean Henry, 84, of West Burlington, IA, formally of Oquawka, IL, passed away Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the Klein Center Great River in West Burlington, IA. She was born February 28, 1931 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Andrew L. and Mable Liby Johnson. She married Newell Liggett in 1948, and later married Keith Henry on May 12, 1977.

She is survived by her children William (Jackie) Liggett of Woodstock, IL, Sheila (Roger) Wikoff of Maroa, IL, Judy Schaeffer of Taylorville, IL, Mary Kathy Juneman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Nancy Liggett of Sheridan, Wyoming, Gary (Jane) Liggett of Maroa, IL; sister Connie (Don) Carpenter of Burlington. IA, brother John Johnson of Prescott, AZ; step children Brent (Cindy) Henry of Oquawka, IL, Harvey (CJ) Henry of Oquawka, IL, and Linda Henry of Oquawka, IL; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren, 6 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step son (Keith Henry), step granddaughter, 2 sisters (Betty Johnson and Barb Allard).

Shirley Worked as a cook at ApplegateNURSING Home Monmouth, IL, she worked a few jobs in nurseries. She loved making stuff for her children and grandchildren, Afghans, towels, dishrags; she crocheted many items and enjoyed many other crafts. She loved watching birds, especially the ducks at Klein's. She was of Presbyterian faith and believed in God and Jesus as her savior.
