Susie Virginia Roberts

Susie Virginia Roberts, 91, of Avon, IL passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, 1:05 p.m. at the Rosewood Care Center of Galesburg, IL.  She was born Thursday, April 14, 1927 in Middlegrove, IL, the daughter of Lawrence P. and ONO Beatty (Ritchie) Miller.  She married Joe W. Roberts on July 3, 1943 in Kahoka, MO, he preceded her in death on October 26, 1998.

She is survived by three sons, Joe “Ed” (Joyce) Roberts of Abingdon, IL, David A. (Delores) Roberts of Avon, IL and Everett L. Roberts of Avon, IL; one daughter Roberta L. (Jim) Cook of Shelbyville, IL; 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Jack), grandson (Jeremy), 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

Susie was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church since 1953.  She farmed with her husband for 12 years.  She worked at Luper and Sunberg in Avon, IL for 9 years and Admirals in Galesburg, IL for 23 years.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 16, 2018, 5:00 p.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be July 16, 2018 from 3:00-4:45 at the Church as well.  Cremation rites will be accorded after the service and burial will be at later date.  Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Avon United Methodist Church, Angels in Action, or St. Jude’s.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Avon, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
