Tamara Diane (Wade) Yoder

Tamara Diane Yoder, age 56, of rural Media, IL passed from this life into her eternal reward on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at University of Iowa Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.  She was born Wednesday, June 24, 1964 in Canton, KS to Douglas and Diane (Otte) Wade.  On July 4, 1999 she married Matthew Yoder in Hutchinson, KS.  They had just celebrated 21 wonderful years of marriage.

Tamara was a graduate of Nickerson Kansas High School and went on to receive a degree in accounting and computer processing until her need to “serve finally won out and she spent a large portion of her life serving the residence of Mennonite Manor, of Hutchinson as a nurse’s Aide.

Serving people was Tamera’s passion in life and she continued her life of service from nursing into ministry with her husband.  Tamara served her Lord in various congregations for 17 years as both an ordained Minister, and a confidant of a young pastor, unsure of himself.

On any given church function, she could be found filling tea glasses or coffee cups, dishing up food, helping an elderly person, or a child to their table, or in a quiet room ministering to a member of the congregation.  After services and meals, she would be found cleaning the church or working outside around the building.  There was never a job too dirty or a person too broken for Tamara.  Many have said “Tamara just loved” She loved the Young, the old, the Saints of the Faith, and the broken.  She loved animals and loved nature.  Most of all she loved her family.  Tamara’s greatest joy was being a mother to her son, David.  From the time David was born the two were inseparable.  David needed his mom as much as she needed her “Pumpkin” as she called him.  The two took bikes rides together, played basketball together, and loved to watch movies together.  That was all fun and games until the “Nerf” guns came out… then it got ugly.  The two would shoot it out in a mad blitz of nerf darts until they laughed too hard to continue.  These were the moments Tamara lived for.  Tamara also enjoyed long walks, her kitties, and being a loving wife.  There was always sweet tea in the fridge and there was never a meal without dessert.

Tamara is survived by her husband, Matthew, one son, David of Media, her mother, Diane of Stronghurst, and a host of nieces and nephews as well as friends around the country.

She was preceded in death by her father Douglas Wade of Anthony, KS and a stillborn brother.

Graveside service will be Monday, July 13, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at the Walnut Grove Cemetery Media, IL.
