Virgi Lynn (Lopeman) Cox

Virgi Lynn (Lopeman) Cox of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She was born January 8, 1950, in Galesburg, the daughter of Virgil and Joan Lopeman.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Toby Cox of Galesburg; children, Todd Anders of Davenport, IA, Carrie (Eric Johnson) Gibbons of Galesburg; step-children, Michael and J.D Cox; many grandchildren and one great-grandson, Nash Gibbons; sister, Jenny Sue Ennis of Galesburg. Many nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mark Lopeman; stepson, Darren Cox.

She worked in the bookstore at Knox College for several years until her retirement. She loved to go to the casino to play the slots and scratch off lottery tickets. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
