Walter Daniel Franke

Walter Daniel Franke, age 89, of Macomb, Illinois passed from this life into the glory of Heaven to be with his Father God and Jesus his Savior on November 6, 2017 in Macomb, Illinois.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Shirley (Ratliff) Franke, and his children: Michael Lowell Franke and wife, Karol, of Avon, Illinois; Ann Franke Menschel and husband, Larry, of Ursa, Illinois; Lyn Franke Feldmann and husband, Rick, of Windsor, Wisconsin; and Charles Mark Franke, Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren including Kathryn Franke Hogel and husband, Steven; Daniel Franke and wife, Diane; James Franke and wife, Amanda Mannix; Andrew Menschel and wife, Lisa; Nora Menschel Jones and husband, Travis; Jessica Feldmann; Katlyn Feldmann; Alexander Feldmann; Lexi Feldmann; and Charles Franke, Jr.  His ten great grandchildren include Mackensie, Delaney and Logan Franke; Cory, Riley, Brooklyn and Caleb Hogel; Samuel Rivers; and Ivy and Gwen Jones. Walter was a World War II Veteran.  He retired from Midwestern Gas Transmission Company in 1988 after 37 years of service.  He and Norma moved to Little Swan Lake near Avon, Illinois in 1991, where he served on the Lake Board for a number of years.  He was a member and active in many ministries at Checkrow Community Church.  Visitation and services will be held at Checkrow Community Church, 3587 E. Checkrow Road in rural Avon, Illinois with visitation from 2:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 and funeral services at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017, followed by burial atAvon Cemetery Avon, IL.  Memorials may be made to St. Coletta of Wisconsin, the home of granddaughter, Jessica Feldmann ((https://www.stcolettawi.org).
